Sol Duc Falls
The sound of rushing water, falling stories over a cliff, pouring into a pool of gushing glacier water overtake my hearing. The Sol Duc Falls is quietly nestled up a 25 minute drive paved road, continuing with a .8mile hike in through the trees until you come to the high bridge crossing over the falls. This waterfall is apart of the 78 mile long river that twists and flows through the Olympic Peninsula. Multiple voices, high in pitch to overpower the sound of the quick moving river, float across the moss cover rocks and up the high hills of the dirt path that continues on deeper into the forest.
Lots of tourists visit. Many with their new found cameras.
Today I learn how to bump up my exposure in order to capture the gloss of fast moving water and I personally think I have successfully completed my task. As well as enjoyed some snacks with Sam on a bench he built with fine smelling cedar.
